El Crucero, Nicaragua - Highpoint International Trip 2017
Come join the Highpoint team to serve the impoverished village of El Crucero in Nicaragua! Our Nicaraguan ministry partners include a large Managua church with a vibrant youth ministry, a smaller local church in the village, and the staff of La Clinica Susie Syke, a non-profit medical clinic that serves the El Crucero area. Together we seek to bless the community through two main outreach areas:
- Children's ministry: on a given day, 120+ children come to a vacation bible school type program, including songs, crafts, lessons, and games. A lot of energy!
- Teens ministry: if you have a heart and talent for teen outreach, your skills are valuable! Teens in Nicaragua tend to suffer from depression and a sense of no opportunity, yet they show up when there's a crowd!
Our team will also participate in several general community outreach efforts, including assisting in a weekly children's feeding program and a special day of providing food baskets to local families and praying with/ for them. As needed, we also take on specific maintenance projects for the medical/dental clinic.
El Crucero is located 30 minutes south of Managua, which is the capital city of Nicaragua. Nicaragua is considered the second-poorest country in the western hemisphere.

Our FIRST Highpoint Mission Trip Meeting! All leaders going on the trip will be in attendance and we invite all students and their parents to come! This will be a time where we get to know one another, share about the trip and our service partners and cover all safety/logistics. We will also discuss fundraising for the trip! Really looking forward to seeing you all there!

- Each participant must participate in pre-trip planning meetings and help prepare ministry activities
- Raise funds to support their team fees and participate in team fund-raising events
- Participate fully in team activities in the field
- Create prayer team to uplift the participant and the team!
