Albania - Alpha Training

WHEN
Feb 9 2020 - Feb 15 2020
WHERE
AL

Albania is the second poorest country in Europe with a developing democracy since 1991. After years under a communist dictatorship which boldly declared “Albania believes there is no God” Albania has emerged with a rapidly growing economy and pursuit of capitalism. While these are all positive changes, corruption is still rampant throughout the country and hopelessness and the desire to get out of Albania is the main goal for the younger population. Less than 1/2 of 1% of the population are evangelical believers.

In February a team from Cherry Hills Community Church will be coming alongside Urban Roots a new coffee shop and church plant in the city of Tirana to share Alpha and host Alpha trainings throughout the week.  Alpha is a course exploring the Christian faith and is run all around the world in cafés, churches, universities, homes etc.  It's a safe, friendly and honest environment to discuss life's big questions of faith, meaning and purpose.

Did you know that Albania has the largest number of coffee shops per capita in the world? Coffee is culture and Urban Roots is located near three major universities serving college students and the young adult population.  Building relationships and sharing Jesus one cup of coffee at a time is at the heart of Alpha.

Our goal is to encourage and equip this new church with the tools and training for their Alpha launch in March of 2020.  We invite you to share in this opportunity with us in prayer and/or financial support.  Our team is working to raise $25,000 to cover the cost of Alpha materials, airfare, lodging, meals and transportation.  If you would like to partner with us financially please click on the green donate button.  We thank you in advance and are super excited to see how God is going to use Alpha in Albania.
